Week of October 30th

The Monkeys had a BIG, fun-filled week last week!  Pumpkin math was a big hit on Halloween and we truly appreciate all volunteers and donations!

We also enjoyed some fun Halloween math stations!

We were able to watch 4th grade's Dead Word Parade!  We look forward to being a part of it one day when we are 4th graders too!

The fun last week did not stop there!  We had a blast celebrating the 50th day of school with our 1950s themed day!

This week in science we are finishing up our unit on magnets.  We will begin learning about relative location words such as above, below, beside, behind, between, under, over, etc.

In language arts, we will work on many fun activities such as retelling stories in fun ways, making a turkey craft and deciding what we could eat for Thanksgiving instead of turkeys, writing a story about what we would do if we were a Thanksgiving turkey and more poetry, phonics and handwriting work.

In math, we are working on comparing 2D shapes to 3D shapes.  We are discussing flat surfaces, curved surfaces or objects that have both flat and curved surfaces.

Last week, our class was able to learn about our superstar student, Anakin!  We were able to find out more about his life and interests.

This week, we are excited to learn about our new superstar student, Mason!
